Sunplease, please!

The smart way to get your weather forecast when you're a busy bee!

Hello! The goal of this webpage is to explain how to simply and efficiently put together an API, using Zapier!

This particular API will be very useful for people who spend a lot of time on their Google agenda, as it can create an event giving the weather forecast for the next day with just one click!

Introducing Sunplease! Sunplease works using an API with Zapier as aforementioned. It's a useful way to know quickly and briefly how you'll have to dress tomorrow.

Unfortunately we can't control the weather quite yet.

But as a person with a busy lifestyle, and a schedule always planned ahead, you can keep control and avoid going to work wearing nothing but a shirt under the pouring rain!

With Sunplease, you can know directly, just by looking at your Google Agenda, what the weather will be like tomorrow, rather than having to look it up yourself! Save yourself some time, and avoid fishy forecast websites: we work with Weather alongside Zappier to give you real, professional projections.

Show me How!

First, once you're on the Zapier website and you've created a new Webhook, you can select the app and event you want to use, which is Webhooks by Zapier for a webhook.

Then, you can set up the webhook.

Once that's done, you can test the trigger:

As you can see, ours works perfectly, so we can now move on.

Then what you do, is you select a first app as a basis that you will trigger anytime you use this API: we chose to work with "Weather by Zapier", in order to obtain the data that people want to see on their agenda. Here you also select the event: in this case we chose to show tomorrow's weather forecast.

Then, once that's done, you can select the location of which you desire to know the weather. We chose Lyon for this example, but on our app you can chose any big city or small town. We indicated the longitude and latitude of Lyon, and there we go!

The next step is to select an action to execute with the webhook and the first app, which is in this case the weather app. We chose to use Google Agenda, as it's quite common for fairly organized people to use it, but also because most businesses use it as an everyday tool, therefore people know how to use it, it's fairly intuitive and broadly used. Then you select what type of event you want to see appear on your agenda: we thought it would make sense to have tomorrow's forecast, but you can also choose to have the current weather.

Here is what you webhook should look like, right about now:

The next step is then to test the webhook:

Our test was successful, luckily.

Ergo, we have a new window with the request which, when triggered, creates an event on your agenda, this is what it looks like: as you can see, it worked as planned.

Finally, here is the result, as seen on my agenda!

Thank you for following our indications! See you soon on your agendas!
